Why see Matilda The Musical?
Class Is In Session
Roald Dahl's much-loved classic of an extraordinary child with magical powers has been reigning supreme at the Cambridge Theatre since 2012 and now sets out on a brand new UK tour! Combining the talents of Tim Minchin and the Royal Shakespeare Company, this extraordinary show has won seven Olivier Awards and has captured the hearts of young and old theatergoers alike, making it one of the most sought-after musicals of the last decade.
What Is The Story?
Matilda, the central character, is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence for her young age - and not to mention, psychokinetic powers.
She's despised by her own hideously selfish parents, but finds a kindred spirit in her shy schoolteacher Miss Honey. Miss Honey also has demons to face - in the form of the outrageously callous headmistress Miss Trunchbull.
Over the course of her first term at school, both teacher and pupil have a profound effect on each other's lives, as they both try to foil the dastardly plans of Trunchbull, and Matilda's parents.
DID YOU KNOW?
Fans of the novel and the show may also be familiar with the 1996 film starring Mara Wilson and Pam Ferris, with real-life husband and wife duo Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman playing Mr and Mrs Wormwood!

Reviews
Our review
Colourful, clever, unmissable
I'm afraid it's true, the kids are revolting - but don't be too alarmed, we mean 100% revolution and 0% revulsion. The school-aged portion of Matilda's cast are causing a revolution in musical theatre, singing and dancing their way to West End stardom...
